These terms describe how Express Bail Bonds provides bail bond services in Colorado and the obligations the cosigner accepts when an application is signed.
Service
Express Bail Bonds writes surety bail bonds at Colorado courts and detention facilities. The state-mandated premium is 15% of the bond amount; bonds over $5,000 with an approved cosigner can be written at a 10% premium. The premium is non-refundable.
What we cannot do
We cannot post a court-ordered cash-only bond. That restriction is set by the court, not by us, and no bail agent in Colorado can post a surety bond against a cash-only requirement.
Cosigner obligations
When a cosigner signs the bond agreement, the cosigner accepts:
- Responsibility for ensuring the defendant attends every court date.
- Responsibility for assisting in returning the defendant to custody if a court date is missed and the bond is forfeited.
- Liability up to the full bond amount in the event of forfeiture.
Before any signature, we walk through the cosigner role on the call. There are no surprises later.
